The Les Éclaireurs foster home in Jumet provides accommodation for 18 young people aged between 11 and 18 who are experiencing family problems Their aim is to provide a healthy living environment that will enable them to rebuild themselves.
Thanks to the support of UFB, they have been able to purchase a minibus to transport the young people in all aspects of their lives. This includes trips to school, shopping and sports activities.
Les Éclaireurs: safety and support for young people
The Les Éclaireurs foster home is part of the non-profit organisation Maison des Eclaireurs, founded in 1952 Its aim is to provide help and support to neglected or abused young people.
With values based on caring, education and social and family reintegration, the association now has the opportunity to support 18 young people on an individual basis.
A range of services are offered to young people, including transport to and from school, transport to important appointments, like sports and cultural activities.
Acquisition of a minibus: an essential means of transport for young people
In service for nearly 10 years, the current vehicle had reached its limits. Essential to the association’s missions, as it accompanies young people on their daily journeys, it was crucial to have a new means of transport.
The purchase of a minibus was therefore financed in order to guarantee the continuity of the young people’s journeys. This funding of 12,500 euros will ensure that the young people receive high-quality support, eliminating the risk of them being unable to travel.
