The asbl De Bolster,<\/em> located in Zwalms in Flanders, supports people with mental disabilities or non-congenital brain injuries. To encourage the creation of links between its staff, local residents and beneficiaries, the non-profit organisation was planning to build a p\u00e9tanque court.<\/p>\n

Thanks to UFB\u2019s support, it has been able to invest in the construction of a court to promote inclusion and moments of sharing.<\/p>\n

Support, include, guide: De Bolster’s mission<\/i><\/h2>\n

\"\"De Bolster’s <\/a><\/span>mission is to offer several types of support to people with specific care needs. It offers residential support, day support and the opportunity to receive individual support.<\/p>\n

With values focused on inclusion, support and the development of people’s autonomy, the asbl currently supports 250 beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

It offers work-related support to allow people develop their skills. The sectors are diversified, ranging from working in cr\u00e8ches or on farms, to working in shops or libraries, always with the support of a coach.<\/p>\n

Regarding residential support, the ASBL enables you to live independently, at home or in a shared apartment, with support tailored to the needs of each person.<\/p>\n

A p\u00e9tanque court to promote the creation of social links<\/h2>\n

In order to promote the inclusion of beneficiaries, the ASBL wanted to create a fun and friendly space open to everyone.<\/p>\n

\u2018We dreamed of a garden where beneficiaries and local residents could get together to exercise, relax, play and discover new things.\u2019<\/em>

Thanks to the funding of EUR 4,500, a p\u00e9tanque court was set up, offering beneficiaries a place where they can have fun and socialise, while strengthening cohesion with their environment.<\/p>\n

Support: a lever for carrying out new projects<\/h2>\n

Thanks to the support received, this project was able to become a reality. Everyone’s contribution allows De Bolster to maintain quality services and guarantee the well-being of those we support.<\/p>\n
