Much more than a minibus, a mission companion

The shelter Les Éclaireurs, located in Jumet, houses 18 young people aged between 11 and 18 who are facing family problems. It aims at providing a healthy living environment that will allow young people to rebuild their lives.

Thanks to UFB’s support, a minibus has been purchased to support young people in all aspects of their lives, such as their journeys to school, shopping and sporting activities.

Les Éclaireurs: security and support for young people

The shelter Les Éclaireurs is part of the asbl La Maison des Eclaireurs created in 1952. Its objective is to provide help and support to neglected or abused young people.

Based on values such as caring support, education and social and family reintegration, the association now has the opportunity to support 18 young people on an individual basis.

Various services are offered to young people, such as transport to school, accompaniment to important appointments, as well as sports or cultural activities.

Acquisition of a minibus: an essential means of transport for young people

In service for nearly 10 years, the current means of transport had reached its limits. Essential to the missions of the asbl, as it accompanies young people on their daily journeys, it was crucial to have a new means of transport.

The purchase of a minibus was therefore financed in order to guarantee the continuity of young people’s journeys. This EUR 12,500 funding ensures quality transport, eliminating the risk of being unable to travel.

‘Thanks to the purchase of this means of transport, I hope we can help many young people and many families for at least 10 years.’
