Essential equipment to improve their daily lives
The non-profit organization “VLOS Vluchtelingen Ondersteuning Sint-Niklaas” supports approximately 600 migrants and refugees each year, including about fifteen in its temporary housing.
Based in Sint-Niklaas, the association provides material, administrative and social support to enable families and young people to rebuild a stable and dignified life, despite the precariousness and uncertainty related to their situation.
Thanks to the support of United Fund for Belgium, VLOS has been able to renew essential equipment: refrigerators and freezers for the social store, equipment for housing (vacuum cleaners, washing machine) and a new oven for the communal kitchen.
These investments guarantee food security, decent living conditions and quality daily support, facilitating beneficiaries’ transition to autonomy.

“Thanks to this support, we were able to replace our old appliances with efficient and reliable equipment, and offer families more dignified living conditions. Without this help, our work would have been much more difficult,” shares Everhard van Dalen, treasurer.
