An electric car to facilitate beneficiary mobility
The non-profit organization “Zonnelied” supports approximately 600 people with disabilities each year, including 360 in Brussels, offer them a more autonomous and inclusive daily life.
Based in Walloon Brabant, the organization provides support tailored to each beneficiary, whether medical, social or logistical assistance.
Every action aims to enable people to participate fully in society, despite the obstacles related to their situation.
Thanks to United Fund for Belgium’s support, Zonnelied was able to acquire an electric car accessible to wheelchair users. Until then, travel was done with a diesel minibus poorly suited to individual trips and urban traffic.
The new vehicle offers more flexibility, facilitates medical appointments and reduces the carbon footprint, while adapting to parking constraints and the narrow streets of Brussels.
This electric car allows our beneficiaries to move around more easily, accompanied by a supervisor. It also simplifies the work of our teams in a complex urban environment.
