United Fund for Belgium’s mission is to build a society where everyone, regardless of background, ability, or income, can participate fully and thrive. We believe social integration is not just a goal, but a shared responsibility.
We bring together companies and individuals who want to make a difference, and connect them with carefully selected local nonprofit projects that create real, lasting change. By focusing on small and medium-sized associations, we ensure that support reaches people where it’s needed most in communities across Belgium.
Through our unique model, 100% of donations go directly to local associations, funding impactful, transparent projects that align with our values and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive society.
Who we support
Our support focuses on non-profits that are embedded in local communities and work directly with people facing social exclusion, disadvantage, or vulnerability. We fund initiatives that:
Support people with disabilities
We help organizations that champion the rights and dignity of individuals with physical, mental, or sensory disabilities. This includes funding for adapted infrastructure, mobility solutions, inclusive programs, and tools that promote autonomy, integration, and active social participation.
Promote Child Welfare
We partner with groups that protect and uplift vulnerable children and youth. From safe shelters and foster care support to education and mentoring programs, we invest in projects that give children the stability, care, and opportunities they need to thrive—regardless of their background.
Fight Poverty and Social Exclusion
We stand with organisations tackling poverty head-on by addressing urgent basic needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing, while also supporting long-term solutions like job training, social reintegration, and community development. Our goal is to help create pathways out of hardship and into dignity.
How we support
To ensure our support creates real, lasting impact, United Fund for Belgium applies a rigorous and transparent selection process grounded in strong governance.
All funding decisions are overseen by our independent Allocation Committee, which evaluates and approves the charitable organizations eligible for support. Every funding application we receive is carefully reviewed and assigned to one of our dedicated volunteers, who conducts an on-site visit to assess the project directly and verify its impact on the ground.
Following the field visit, the volunteer compiles a detailed report, which is submitted to the Allocation Committee. This Committee meets 8 to 10 times a year to examine each application in depth. Every project is discussed thoroughly, and decisions are made impartially and unanimously by all committee members, ensuring that each euro goes where it can do the most good.
Once the projects have been accepted and implemented, United Fund for Belgium reimburses the costs on presentation of invoices only by the beneficiary organisation. Therefore, we can guarantee 100% of the donations go to our projects.
