Electric duo bicycle to enhance outdoor activities for De Schakel beneficiaries

Established in 1979, De Schakel is a dedicated care centre for people with mental disabilities. With a mission to provide high-quality services and organise meaningful outdoor activities for individuals with special needs, De Schakel fosters a strong sense of community and promotes social inclusion.

Comprehensive residential care

De Schakel also operates as a residential facility, offering round-the-clock services to its residents. Currently, 70 individuals with disabilities reside at De Schakel, enjoying various benefits and a supportive environment tailored to their unique needs.

Expanding outdoor activities with an electric duo bicycle

At De Schakel, a wide range of activities are specifically tailored to meet the personal needs of each resident. Beneficiaries can choose from hiking, swimming, creative workshops, kitchen work, gardening, and other types of outdoor activities.

Thanks to your generosity and support, we have been able to contribute with EUR 5,000 to the purchase of an electric duo bicycle. This bicycle is a significant addition to their resources, greatly enhancing their ability to organise and expand outdoor activities for our residents.

The electric duo bicycle will provide new opportunities for the beneficiaries to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and engage with the community in a healthy and enjoyable way.
