Le Center Reine Fabiola located in Neufvilles, Hainaut, has two units dedicated to mentally handicapped elderly people.
Thanks to the support of UFB, the Center was able to install two new bathtubs adapted to the special needs of its beneficiaries.
This new facility makes bathing easier for both the people being cared for and the staff helping them.
A center offering comprehensive care
Founded in 1963, the Center Reine Fabiola is to support people with disabilities. It offers both accommodation and the opportunity for beneficiaries to carry out life projects.
With values based on respect for oneself and others, responsibility and tolerance, the Center currently supports 500 people.
It offers some 15 accommodation facilities, some 50 activities adapted to all, and works in collaboration with the Nekto adapted work company, which employs 280 workers.
New bathtubs adapted for comfort
For hygiene care, the units dedicated to people with disabilities used to have only conventional bathtubs. However, these bathtubs are not always adapted to the specific needs of the beneficiaries and generate a certain degree of discomfort.
Le Center Reine Fabiola wished to acquire new, adapted, self-lifting bathtubs to facilitate care for both staff and residents.
This funding of 7,500 euros will enable us to offer top-quality care to the 89 ageing adults with learning disabilities who reside at the Center Reine Fabiola.
“The entire Centre Reine Fabiola, management, staff of La Reverdie and La Gradine and their beneficiaries thank you for your support! You have made a real difference in the lives of each and every one of them!” Aurélien Muratore, Communications Manager.
