THE ASBL Le Radian is a Brussels-based non-profit organization that helps young people aged between 12 and 20, both perpetrators and victims of juvenile delinquency, to rebuild their ties with society.
Thanks to UFB’s support, the ASBL has been able to acquire a new software package that makes it easier to track young people and manage data.
ASBL helps young people escape delinquency
Created in 1985, ASBL Le Radian offers support to young perpetrators of juvenile delinquency and their victims, with the aim of helping them rebuild broken ties with both victims and society.
With values centered on empowerment, reparation and re-establishing social ties, the ASBL Le Radian today supports around a hundred young offenders in a process of awareness-raising and reconstruction.
The ASBL is active in a number of areas, involving both perpetrators and victims.
Juvenile delinquents are required to provide an educational and community service by making themselves useful to a public-interest organization. They are also required to attend individual or group awareness-raising workshops.
Victims are given the opportunity to meet the perpetrator in mediation, so that they can express their experiences and emotions. This meeting takes place in a supervised, respectful environment. If they wish, victims can also be accompanied by support staff during the meeting.
New software for better monitoring
Given the large number of beneficiaries of the ASBL, it could sometimes prove complicated to ensure both quality monitoring and optimal management of the data contained in the old software. The transition to new software was therefore necessary.
THE ASBL Le Radian wanted to offer high-quality follow-up to the young perpetrators and victims of delinquency it supports through its missions.
This funding of 2,000 euros has enabled the installation of new software, improving data management by the teams. Thanks to this tool, they can gain in administrative efficiency and focus more on what’s essential: supporting young people.
“Many thanks to United Fund For Belgium. Thanks to you, our association has been able to make a successful transition to an appropriate management system.” Claude Vincent, director of ASBL Le Radian.
