The CVFE (Collectif contre les Violences Familiales et l’Exclusion) located in Liège, provides shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and exclusion, helping them to rebuild their lives.
Thanks to the support of UFB, the CVFE was able to secure its third home, called “Le Refuge”. The new security features make it easier for beneficiaries to feel at home.
A reception center where everyone can rebuild their lives
Created in 1978, the CVFE aims to welcome and support women and children who are victims of domestic violence in their own homes.
With values focused on emancipation, equality and the fight against gender violence, the CVFE currently supports 209 beneficiaries.
In particular, the collective offers a place to stay, “Le Refuge”, with 8 rooms, one of which is reserved for emergency accommodation. Psychological support is available on site, as well as social and legal assistance.
It also offers training through SOFFT to help women become financially independent, and raises public and professional awareness of the need to combat gender-based violence.
Safety assured in the 3rd home
The CVFE had a 3rd home that was not yet sufficiently secure. Safety plays a central role in the reception of beneficiaries, so that they can feel confident and at ease as they rebuild their lives.
The collective wanted to offer greater security and a pleasant place to live in community for the women and children it takes in.
This funding of 10,000 euros has enabled us to provide a secure space for our beneficiaries, with living areas adapted to community life. This accommodation enables them to forge new links and rebuild their lives at their own pace.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the generosity shown in support of the CVFE. This support is invaluable and enables us to pursue the missions of our Collective ” Géraldine Centi, accounting and subsidies.
