Last Monday 19 February we had a stimulating discussion around social inclusion and how it presents countless opportunities to do good in the society, in collaboration with our partner Degroof Petercam.
Three fantastic contributors Thomas Van Eeckhout (Easi), Geert Pauwels (Autimatic) and Jo Wuytack, Board member of the Degroof Petercam Foundation shared their insights on social inclusion practices.
Valuable things we learned
Geert Pauwels (Autimatic) talked about diversity and its multiple dimensions. With Autimatic, he raises the question of neurodiversity. Even though people with autism may represent mental differences, they come often with remarkable creativity and uniqueness.
On the other hand, Thomas Van Eeckhout, CEO of Easi, stressed out the significance of finding the right balance between business performance and creating a context where people can feel truly happy at work.
Jo Wuytack spoke about corporate philanthropy and empowering disadvantaged people through employment. At the Degroof Petercam Foundation, the combination of a due diligence, a continuing monetary funding and a close follow-up system enables them to have a strong societal impact.
We are grateful for your support
We would like to thank our speakers for their participation as well as Jorn Craeghs (Director, ELDERS) who masterfully moderated the event. Finally, we’re grateful to our audience, who joined and supported our organisation.
