UFB does not put the money collected directly at the disposal of the beneficiaries, but it reimburses the expenses incurred, on the bank account of the asbl/vzw, when the selected project is successfully completed. United Fund for Belgium will only reimburse invoices issued after notification of acceptance of the financial support by UFB. Invoices prior to notification will not be accepted.

The application procedure for financial support at UFB takes approximately one year. Here are the main steps:

  1. The first selection criteria are first checked by our “allocation manager”.
  2. Then, the allocation committee (on the spot or by videoconference) takes the decision to accept or refuse the application for financial support, on the basis of the file submitted by the asbl/vzw and after having met with her.
  3. The decision is then submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. The Board’s decision does not have to be motivated and is not subject to appeal.

The amount allocated depends on the amount raised during the fundraising event which takes place simultaneously. Generally, support for a project does not exceed 15.000 €.

As the reimbursement procedure takes place entirely online (via the internet), all you need to do is scan the invoices and send us the file via the online application. Please note, however, that the asbl/vzw is obliged to keep the originals and send them to United Fund for Belgium, if we expressly request this.

The funds made available by UFB come from donations from private companies and individuals.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Applications can be submitted throughout the year.

A decision not to support a project is unfortunately not subject to appeal. However, you can submit a new application for financial support for a new project whenever you wish.

You must observe a period of 3 years from the date of the official selection notification letter of the previous application for financial support before submitting a new application.

2. If United Fund for Belgium has financed a vehicle, you must observe a period of 6 years (from the date of the official selection notification letter of the previous application for financial support), before submitting a new application for the financing of a vehicle. In the case of an application for vehicle financing, please note that UFB will only intervene for part of the amount required. If your association wishes to submit a new application for a project other than the financing of a vehicle, the 3-year deadline will apply.

Applications for financial support can be submitted throughout the year. Once the application file is complete, i.e. once all the requested documents have been submitted, the procedure takes approximately one year. At the end of this, if UFB decides to support the project, the ASBL will have to send us a request for reimbursement as well as the required legal documents (invoices, RIB, form accepting the terms of payment, etc.). Payment is then generally made within 30-40 working days (except for summer holidays).

No. UFB only supports projects that are not yet underway.

No, if your application is not accepted, UFB will not intervene in any of the expenses incurred. Above all, do not order the material for which you have requested our financial support until you have received official confirmation from UFB.
